Seminar Definition: A “Seminar” is typically a meeting scheduled to give or discuss pertinent
information or a room where such a meeting would take place. Seminars will frequently be simply two
hours or could last up to two to three work days in length as well as offer one or more speakers. The
primary goal of a seminar is to maintain all audience in one location.
Conference Definition: A “Conference” while similar to a “Seminar” yet vastly different in the respect
that it will typically hosts multiple sessions. Some of the five (5) key components for attending a business
conference would be 1) educational opportunities; 2) in-person networking opportunities; 3) learn about
competitors; and 4) marketing to potential client opportunities. Conferences are typically held at larger
Venues such as Hotels or Convention Centers. Conferences typically also begin with a Keynote Speaker
then will offer breakout sessions, lunch, other periodic breaks, as well as offering various breakout
sessions by topic.
Purpose: TriState Events offers “Seminars” and “Conferences” to organizations and businesses in such
needs as holding meetings where a targeted audience is needed to provide current , important, and
relevant information.
